LS1 in a 55 Belair 2 Post... Having PROBLEMS!
Hello,
I have been scimming through the forums for a few weeks now. Great place and tons of great information on this site.
I am having a problem getting a LS1 running.
I installed a LS1 into a custom frame for a 55 belair. Everything is pretty much set to go but the engine will not start.
I have a wiring harness and computer from "Turn Key". When I hit the start the engine turns over, I have 58lb's of gas pressure. It will start firing like it wants to run, then it will start backfiring really bad out the exhaust and intake.
I am not sure what is causing this problem. "Turn Key" has send two different harnesses and computer and they both do the same thing.
Any sugjestions would be great... Thanks in advance guys/gals!

Well you guys ain't much help
Ya the swap is going to be cool, I had a custom frame built for the Dana 44 rear end along wit the corvette front. I have this non starting LS1 with a T56. Should look like a 55 belair, but drive like a vette!
I will post pics of it when it's done if mods don't care.
