Car opinions?

So I've been wanting to do an ls1 swap but I need some opinions.
I want to do a swap under 7k with the vehicle cost in there. Also, since I live in the bay area, it has to be smog legal as well.

Can it be done? What cars would you guys suggest other than the s10. No offense or anything but I do not like little trucks

after driving my k5 for almost a year.

Guy just swapped a used LS1 into a fox Mustang.. runs 11s and he's in it for only $7k

He posts on here.

The stories have been running in Popular Hot Rodding.

mustang or fairmount - light, cheap(4banger stangs are atleast) and there's alot of parts. same with nissan 240sx's.

im doing a datsun 240z and im about at 7k give or take. their are kits available to make it a bolt in affair to if that's a concern.
