Default Vette fuel filter-part 2

I went back to the Chevy dealer and bought a 98 filter. 1 inlet and 1 outlet.(only about $15). On the inlet side it is a standard hose nipple type fitting. Looks like a standard hose clamp will do. But on the outlet side it looks like it uses some kind of push in tube. Does anybody know what is supposed to be used or what would work? Thanks, John

If it's what I'm thinking of, the tube sticking out of the one end, is what would fit into the other end. We use a GM filter that has the tube sticking out of both ends. Although it's designed for a quick disconnect fitting, it also works great with fuel injection hose and a hose clamp.
I don't have the PN in front of me, but the application was 91 Caprice 5.0 and 5.7. There are probably other applications for this filter too; that's just the one I stumbled on.

You can probably find a piece of tubing with the correct swedge in it to fit your Vette filter, but you have to be real careful "making" fittings for these applications. You don't want the possibility of a rubber hose sliding off at 58 psi!

I used the filter/reg combo which had that push in quick disconnect fitting. I used the cutoff fuel line from my fuel rail that came with my engine and inserted it(male end)into the filter/reg fitting. Then I used a Russell hard tube to AN adapter fitting to go from there forward to the fuel rail.Works great.

I went to a local CarQuest and bought a 5/8" fuel line repair kit. It is about am 18" piece of tubing with the male quick disconnect on each end. I cut it off where I needed it and slid a -6 tube sleeve and nut on there and it worked perfectly. If you can't find one locally, I would sell you the half I didn't use for $10 shipped. It sticks out in my head that the part is about $15.00.
