Current Consumption Hi All,
Just trying to get fuses right/sort out my wire sizes etc,
Can you have a scan down this list and let me know what sort of current each bit will draw?
Fan 1
Fan 2
Fuel Pump
Injector Bank 1
Injector Bank 2
O2 Heaters
PCM Switched Live
PCM Perm Live
Starter Motor

Fan 1 - assuming stock fans.. experience tells me 30A doesnt blow, 25A eventually does.
Fan 2 - see above
Fuel Pump - i have a 15A stock in my thirdgen (same pump as stock 4thgen), and i retained that.
Injector Bank 1 - 15A
Injector Bank 2 - 15A
O2 Heaters -- if this all four O2s and the MAF like stock, then - 20A
PCM Switched Live - 5A
PCM Perm Live - i have a 10A fuse in here.. however a 5 may work. i havent tried. im sure the PCM uses very little current.
Starter Motor - unfused in OEM apps.
btw theres also the transmission circuits... - 15A

Make certain that the wireing you add is of sufficient size for the current draw. Depending on what you are putting the motor into, the stock wires for the under dash fuseblock will not tolerate much more than the original desing current draw. It is better/safer to add a new wire from the battery/alternator junction point to a new fuse block for the LSx stuff. In 12VDC, you can usually count on 12AWG handling 40-60A depending on length and how it is bundled.
