I'm currently running a v8 from a camaro SS and it's running a bit rich. I can smell gas fumes from the tail pipe. At first I thought it might be a leaky injector but I've just tested them by building up fuel pressure and letting them sit, but they were OK. I was told by Speed and Performance (they removed VATS and the EGR) and they said mentioned it could be leaky injectors, or a blown head gasket. I checked the oil and it looks good, no signs of mixture. I'm a little stumped. Could it possible be tuning? I'm not sure if a rich tune would behave this way. My mods are intake, headers, and exhaust.

 

Check for codes, most probable is a bad maf.

 

No codes being thrown at all. Could it be a clogged injector as opposed to having a leaky injector (same issues caused by leaky/clogged injector?)? I'm going to take them to get cleaned tomorrow.

 

Are you running cats? Could it just be the normal smell you get when you ditch all the emissions stuff including the cats? My car stinks pretty bad, and I thought it was an issue until I searched for posts about exhaust smell. I mean mine burns your eyes sometimes if it gets you right. Seems once you remove cats and do any light modding it will just plain get stinky. Ive only heard of a few guys claiming that their exhaust doesnt stink too bad.
