1966 B-Body install Hello,
I have a 1966 Caprice, that is a factory BBC car. It's in pretty good condition, but needs work. I am slowly restomoding it. I also have an 04 Silverado with a 5.3. I am beyond pleased with the performance I get out of the 5000lb truck and a relatively small motor.
This got me thinking, what if I got a 6.0 or even an 8.1 and swapped it in to my Caprice? I have been looking at EFI for the 396 I have, but it's kinda spendy. I have look around the forum a little, but have seen much on swapping in to a B-body. What and where do I look at and for?
I'm very keen on the 8.1 idea because I've seen complete ones for $2500, and I can't seem to finda good 454 block for less than a grand, 496ci would be perfect for a 396ci car.
