S10 5.3 Wiring - Is it really this straightforward?
I have been trying to get my wiring harness squared away, and I need to make sure I understand those wiring stickies correctly.
Anyway, I have a 2002 5.3 / 4L60E pullout with harness, fuse box, and PCM. Comparing the 5.3 Fuse box with my 2.2 4 cylinder fuse box, they are very similar (see pictures). Both fuse boxes use the 5 big connectors that plug in from underneath, and share similar fuse layouts.
So here is my question: In order to mate the 5.3 to the truck's factory wirng, is it as simple as unplugging the 2.2 engine harness from underneath the box and plugging in the 5.3 engine harness (C101, IIRC)? As long as the fuses all match the 5.3's arrangement, will it work? I know that there are a couple other wires to hook up, like the fuel pump wire, one for the A/C, and one for the tranny, (all from the other connectors), but is this the gist of it?
Sorry for the long post, I just need to make sure that I understand this thing correctly.
TIA for anyone that can clarify!
Brent
