another 98 won't start, need quick advice
Yesterday all cylinders were firing, all injectors were hitting(noid light test), 58 PSI at the fuel rail. All plugs/plug wires are new. Would not start unless I shot a squirt of go-go juice into the TB,(briefly ran off the juice alone). I couldn't play anymore,(limited on time)Did not scan computer yet.
Today, Go-Go juice does nothing.
Today, sometimes 3, 6, and 8, were firing and now only 6, and 8.
Getting a code P0452-"Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch low input". (even though I paid a well known company to clear all emission related codes
) I have cleared this code with my scanner and it pops back when I turn the key to "on" position without cranking. Could this code be stopping me?I have seen the tach needle hover when cranking (sensing cranking speed) only sometimes. sometimes it dosn't move at all when cranking.
I am leaning toward a crank sensor and maybe a cam sensor but not sure.
Any thoughts? How do you check those sensors? ohms~continuity?
thanks for the help in advance,
ChrisP
And with intermittent issues as the spark and the tach signal I was thinking more of a sensor going/gone bad.
I'll have to check tommorow to see if the scanner I have can read the crank sensor...

how do I bench test the cam and crank sensor?
I have read other post stating in some instances a computer relearn had to be accomplished.....?.....
thanks for any help,

I was only getting 5V at the switched lead that goes to my ign relays while the engine is cranking. I had good voltage in the 'on' positon but voltage sank when the key was turned to 'run' position.
Fixed the problem by connecting to a fat pink wire coming from the ign switch connector. 11.5V in on and run! Now theres good spark at all 8.
New problem: ALL injectors are clogged.
I pulled the fuel rail up from the engine and placed clear bags on each injector. Then turned the key, only 1 of them was squirting semi-halfass.
So I removed the pcm from the circuit and gave each injector 12V manually. I can hear them "click" but fuel wouldn't squirt out.
