99 v6 to 99 ls1 swap

99 v6 to 99 ls1 swap 
i have a 99 firebird.. swapping an ls1 in from a 99 ta. the engine is complete and the guy is willing to give me EVERYTHING i need for the swap for 1700$ and he will install it. he has everything i would need.. (this is a good friend) i know i need-----fuel rail/motor mounts/oil pan/k member/pcm/front suspension/exhaust
things i need to know are what i need for tranny ex. bell housing be swapped or what? will it bolt right up.. back end do i HAVE to switch to posi trac immediately (for money sake) and ANYTHING that anybody knows i will run into. i DONT need opinions i need facts. THANKS very much in advance!

Auto or manual? The 5-speed will not bolt up to the LS1.
Also if you don't want to swap out all of the fuel lines (LS1 has a single feed with FPR in the tank, 3800 has a return line and FPR at the rail) you can buy a 98+ Corvette fuel filter / fuel pressure regulator. It has the right fittings on it to hook up to the LS1 fuel rail and 3800 fuel lines in the engine bay, and will only run you 30-40 bucks from RockAuto.com

im doing the same thing with a 98. thanks for the fule advice i was looking at aftermarket stuff. but i knew about the regulater/filter. i'll look in to it more
if its an auto i got a bell housing from a local tranny shop/friend and it will bolt on to make my v6 a4 work with the ls. a 3800 is 60 degree bolt pattern, ls and all sb and bb chevys are 90.
