Default Compressor Brackets

I would like to know if there is any information on which of the many brackets for the a/c compressor(s) mount up the highest (which would provide the most x-member clearance)

measurments+ pictures would be great.

I am trying to avoid alot of modifications to my x-member which it seems the f-body brackets require some good sized dents in it.

would a truck one work better or a vette mount?

I thought about using a 2.3 a/c compressor since it uses the 5 rib pulley and I am sure I could save room since it mounts from the front side but I would be waisting money if it didn't fit

if you go changing one thing, you have to change everything, just keep that in mind. F-body uses F-body stuff, Y-body uses Y-body stuff, trucks use truck stuff. IIRC

the a/c runs it's own bracket. so I am sure some fitting may be needed however pictures and such would go far in deciding what would work

If you have room you can also relocate the compressor up high on the passenger side and make it run from the same belt as the other stuff.

I think you'll have to notch your K-member if you try to keep the AC down low; I believe the Spohn tubular K-member is the only one that will let it fit. Chesk this out for other mounting options: http://www.hotrodlane.cc/

You can reuse your 3rd gen AC compressor by using the kit from these guys. Thats my plan since mine still blows cold with the original R12
