Default LS in a Jeep

Can it be done and how much of a PITA would it be to put a LS1 out of a 99 Z28 in it I also want to put a 6 speed in it in stead of my A4 it is a 78 CJ-7. If I need to I can use my A4 so that he transfercase will bolt up but I prefer a M6

Default Re: LS in a Jeep

The T56 is the route I'm headed for in my 79 CJ5. Good gear splits for 33's and 4.11. Major reengineering of the tail end of the T56. A third of work is relocating the shifter forward. That's been documented a Cobra kit site. Then 2 thirds getting the output shaft into the Dana300 and closing up or heliarc up a 300 bolt pattern where the original T56 tail housing was.
I going to drive mine for a few months while I look for a good priced T56 and a extra Dana 300.
