Help with fuel pump
Help with fuel pump Can i use the factory fuel pump in my 91 F150 for an 02 firebird LS1? The F150 came stock with a 5.0. Or do I have to swap in one from a camaro or firebird? Any info is greatly appreciated.
I know the Ford injectors are rated at a lower pressure than the gm spec injectors because fords are known to use a slightly lower fuel pressure something like 50ish psi if memory serves me correctly. However, it is possible the ford pump could handle putting out the 58 psi.
I tried looking for the psi ratings for the ford pump or injectors, and couldnt find any info. Anyone know where to find this information? Is there any way to jump up the voltage to the ford pump to kick it up to 58psi or higher?
Is there an regulator that can be repalce for a adjustable one ? that would be one way.
You might be able to pickup a few more PSI if you connect the power wire to feed off of the Alternator.. 13.8+ voltage.. That is how my Racetronix standalone wire harness is setup. But I would not expect to much of a jump.
