Default 69 Brake conversion...Alittle help???

Was wondering if 2002 Camaro disc brakes are convertable to 69 Camaro I just restored? New to this whole thing would like a little help before I purchase. I heard that there were donor cars and was hoping this was one. If not alittle help with ones that are?? THANKS

There are kits to use Gen 4 F-Body brake (parts) on your 69... I know BRP markets a kit with just the brakets or will all of the parts needed.

Not a simple pop and swap. Might not be worth the effort, haven't looked into it. You can convert to 70's style single piston disc's pretty cheaply. Look about at companies like Inline Tube, CPP, Master Power, etc. Everyone offers a first gen camaro kit, usually at a pretty attractive price.

I used the BRP spacer plates to put 4th gen F body rear brakes on my car. It was relatively simply but you have to pull the axles etc to do the installation. The BRP front kit requires modified hubs but it's not a big deal either.

I did this very swap on a 69 a built in 03. I machined down a drum brake hub so a rotor would slip over it. Tnen I made brackets out of 1/2' plexi to adapt the caliper mount brackets to the stock 69 Camaro drum spindels. After getting it right I brought the plexi brackets to a machine shop for them to make a set out of metal.

They worked great and were cheap.

could you explain what is modified about the hubs? I only bought the brackets by themselves and I cannot get them to work for me.(rotors are rubbing on the abutment.)
I was told that no modification to the spindle top boss had to be made. (because of the washer welded on the bottom of the bracket)

You need to turn down the hub ever so slightly to make the rotors fit over the hub.

You can also use Corvette 13" rotors if you like.

Look at my site, I have some info on swaps like this. I used C4 calipers but the brackets and methods are the same.

There are 3 holes that just lighten the bracket.
