4l80e -> 4L60e wiring
I'm putting a 5.3L into my 68 C-10. I got the engine ('05), a ('04)computer, and a (04) harness. The harness is for a 4L80e though. I'm planning on running a 4l60e.
I did some reading and one post said you can move some wires around in the plugs an it will work, the other post said you need a plug adapter. Is the main plug the same?
I know I have to move two wires on the ECM side....no biggie there, I'm just confused by the conflicting info.
Thanks

The plugs are the same. I did the opposite of what you did. I installed a 4L80e instead of a 4L60e. Send me an email to Dauderman_Jeff@cat.com I'll send you the diagrams for the two transmissions. The 4L80e used an extra vss and had 2 wires switched at the transmission connector. The wires to switch were at the T and U position on the connector. Look at the diagrams I send to be sure.
