will the stock 69 console with with a T56?
will the stock 69 console with with a T56? I am planning a ls1 t56 swap in my 69 camaro. it currently has the factory console with a horseshoe auto shifter. can it be made to work with the t56?
You will need to change the shift plate for the manual version and the console will have to slide back about 4 inches or so. We bought the McLeod 2.3 inch relocate for $335, and moved our 67 console back 2 inches. We are NOT happy with the McLeod shift relocate, it required a ton of work to get it to fit properly.
If you have to move the consol back, you should look into buying a Viper T-56. Its not only stronger, but the shifter is mounted forward 4-5 inches. I dont know about a 69 Camaro, but my with my Chevelle the Viper trans fits perfect into the stock consol in the stock location.

With the stock F-Body T56... the Sifter location came up on my bench Seat.. I looked into doing the McLeod Shifter and also their kit to move the shifter to the forward location, but for the cost of all of that.. I chose to go the Viper T56 which does have the forward location and cleared my Bench seat.. I would be very close to the stock manual shifter location and shouldn't be too far off for you.
