Default "massaging" the trans tunnel on a fox.

Tomorow th 4 cyl comes out, the engine bay is being cleaned and painted and sunday it's LS1 install time.

I'm curious to know if I need to massage the firewal for t56 to clear?

Anybody give some input?

Nope... It will fit in the Fox tunnel just fine. You will need to cut the floor for the shifter to come thru tho. Well you don't have to but most do....

Search! There are several fox swaps that have been detailed here.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will see where the hole needs to be wroked when it goes in.

Well I pulled the 4 banger today. I have to clean the engine bay and repaint it so I will do that tomorrow.

May it will go in tomorrow if all goes very well.

I'd say it depends. I was able to get the motor and tranny in from the front with no problems whatsoever, and only had to cut a 1"x4" piece off of the back of the shifter hole to clear the shifter. I did not have to massage anything, that is until I pulled the tranny out to swap the clutch after the car was running. One of the tabs on the driver side of the tranny case (the ones that I think they use during assembly that doesn't do anything once in the car) was making it tough to get the tranny in. I suppose I could've pulled the tranny back down and cut off the tabs, but it was easier to clearance the floor pan with the BFH
