Default 2003 ZR2 issues

I have a 2003 ZR2 s10 pickup. I'd like to switch to a v8 due to issues with the 4.3 v6. IS there a list if needed parts that I can get? I klnow I'll probably need headers and an oil pan. Where can I locate those? CAn I use the existing trans? Please help.

It will cost you about 6K by the time you are finished. And about 6 months wo the truck. Definitely do able but the 4wd makes it extremely expensive

Not sure where you are from, but you may also need to consider contacting your local/state DMV and ask about emissions issues.

The 4x4 is the most difficult. There aren't off the shelf headers, but you can use modified 98 F-Body manifolds. The Sanderson shorties may work with some slight modification.

If you can switch to coil-over shocks you'll have a much easier time with the swap.

Default 4x4

Or do what I did and gut the 4x4 gear out and make it 4x2. Just leave your outer shafts in the hubs to hold them together. My 5.3 with truck accessories fit no problem with some mods, nothing hard to do. This is in 96 4x4 4dr Blazer, now lowered 2 inches.

Default Many thanks

Thanks guys for the info. I may have to look into just replacing the 4.3.
