2001 v6 firebird to 99 ls1 conversion near complete Over the past two weeks i have been converting my 01 firebird into an ls1, in the past i added tinted windows side and back, 96' ws6 wheels powdercoated mettalic gold, falken 17" tires, metallic gold 30th anny stripes and side stripes, and other gold accents, switched door emblems to formula, suncoast ws6 hood and air box.

i purchased a 99 ls1/auto from cleveland pick a part, other parts purchased from pick a part, pontiac, billy grahams camaro, autozone, napa : with radiator, fuel pump, fuel lines, instrument cluster, engine cradle, aluminum drive shaft, ac lines, radiator hoses, heater hose, altenator, 01 wiring and pcm, slp off road long headers, slp cats, slp y-pipe, slp loudmouth exhaust, slp ls6 intake, mobil 1 oil, mobil 1 filter, mobil 1 atf, prestone antifreeze, castor power steering fluid, brake fluid, transmission crossmember, serpintine belt, wiring(to extend wiring around headers).
more to come need to take car to get aligned and better brake bleeding.

I believe there are only 2 wires that really need to be changed on the PCM harness with the LS1 so it matches up with the V6 setup. 1 is power, the other is a rogue wire.

Re: 2001 v6 firebird to 99 ls1 conversion near complete yes the car is running, rough but running, with the slp headers i removed egr and air pump, and right now there is no rear o2 sensors and the MAF is not on due to closeness to suncoast ram air box, and the pcm is from 01 ls1 and engine is 99' so i figure it is recieving bad fuel information too, i drove it today to a shop to get front end alignment and brakes bleed better, and slp exhaust straightened so tips will go on straight, hard to do laying on back under car, the 01 harness connected to the body module and the only forseeable thing is i wont have cruise control, i am sending the pcm to ls1 speed inc to be reprogrammed tomorrow.
