Default Is This A Realistic Time Frame

Here's my parts list:
2001 Camaro SS 62K miles: Hit hard in the rear
1994 Camaro Z28 Rolling Shell: Spotless, no rust, and the body parts are good

Ok well I've got two questions:

Question One:
Is a weekend a realistic time frame to do a LS1 Swap into the 94. I have great mechanical skills and I have all the tools I think I would need and have acess to a lift, engine hoist, and engine stand...

OR

Question Two:
Being that my best friend owns a body shop, should I just cut the back half off the SS and replace it with the back half of the 94...

All of your input would be greatly appreciated. Also I did search but didn't quit get the info I was looking for.

David

If you're that good and have a lift and some power tools, I would imagine it can be done...

But there are probably a million little snags that can happen along the way.

yap Its the little things that get ya.Those bolts that end up spun or stuck, that one connector you break while trying to pull it out and have to wait till Monday to order .....etc.

If it were me, I would go with option 1. I would then do plenty of research as to what needs to be swapped etc. Next step would be getting everything ready the week prior to the swap weekend. Bring in a friend(s) to help out with the work.

It is not unrealistic to tackle 90% of the work in a weekend.

The wiring to make everything work right will probably take most of the weekend.

The wiring shouldn't be that bad, I'm just using all of the LS1 harnesses. There is absolutely nothing in the 94, so I shouldn't have to worry about combining two harnesses.

I say go for it. What do you have to lose? If you don't get it done in a weekend, it's no big deal just continue with it to the next weekend. If you can wrench fast enough, anything is possible.

If your using all the LS1 harnesses that means our swaping the dash too. No way you'll get the entire swap done in a weekend unless you have an army of friends helping. Good luck though. The electrical harness for both doors will make you nuts.
