My 240sx will be getting a 06 LS2 from 06 GTO.
But my current concern is with the drive-by-wire system that I beleive GTO uses. Is that something controlled by ECU or can I just get the engine/trans/wiring/ecu deal and make it work like any other LS1???

you can convert to cable TB, or you can make the DBW work, you need the TAC modual (sp?) and the peddle to go with it.

Yeah, I saw (in the other thread) that the TB is needed to convert from DBW, but is that the only thing??? ECU won't need any other mods?

i dont have experience but i would venture to guess you just tell who's doing the tuning that your using a cable and he/she should be able to set it up to not expect a dbw and it should be fine.
