you do not need a regulator with a return style system

are you sure? With out one what will regulate the pressure? he would probably end up having too little pressure, he should have a regulator on the return side of the system at some point.

Come to think of it, i think i do recall that trucks had a regulator up near the rails. Not sure though, hope someone clears that up for the OP.

F-bodies regulate at the tank, and aftermarket systems usually have a feed and return with a reg. on the return side.

John, 55 chevy.. cool. (suggest searching on some of the tri-5 guys and research there threads)

I guess the question would be is what are you going to use on the engine side.. what engine and fuel rail ?.. does it have one already ?
But in general, a regulator is required somewhere in the system as well as the return, If the Truck intake doesn't have requlator on the fuel rail.. then you will need to put one somewhere in the system, a aftermarket bypass regulator with a return line or what many have used is the 99+ Vette regulator/filter. I used on above the rear end and that way I only needed to run a feel line to the fuel rail.

You also need to consider the pickup in the gas tank, it needs to be baffled in oder to avoid starvation.
