51 chevy truck question

is this swap possible? i am new to the whole conversion and hybrid section so any help would be greatly appreciated...

Anything is possible. Do they make a direct fit conversion kit for that truck? Nope. But, trucks are an easy swap chassis just because they have a TON of room under the hood. Go for it!

Yes, do go for it man. My dad is building a '51 Chevy five window truck, and he is planning on using an LS1 (mainly because of the gains he has seen from the stuff I do on my truck) They are an expensive motor to work with compared to an older 350, but they are worth it not only in the performance area, but also in the weight factor.

allright thanks guys...its my dad's '51 and he wants to do something with the straight 6 under the hood so i suggested an LS1...it is a beautifully restored truck...he was worried about the frame being able to handle the power of the LS1 though...you think there would be any issues?
