need some one to do "drivability" tests for you

heck , slap on some nitto NT-01's on it and it might flip over backwards!

heh, i've been running 315 nitto 555 RII's on it. BUT I had worn those out on my vette before I put them on the seven. Next year I'll try Toyo RA1s (or R888 if my sizes are available).

I'm moveing the engine / tranny / passenger compartment and roll bar about 4" back in the car (yeah, it's not easy - lot's of hacking involved), and moving the front wheels 6" forward (reshaping Aarms) to get better weight distribution.

... Its not gonna work in an Elise/Estige.

If you mount it longitudinally - the package with trans will be too long
If you mount it transversely (and it fits) you'll be stuck with an Auto

If you want an Elsie with an LS - do what I did.

And if you want one on steroids, send it to Jeff Schwartz.

no, but could use more traction... even with 315 R compounds, I can still spin 'em at 60-70. and 0-60 is around 3.8. The car has WAY more power in it, if I can improve traction.

Before I started the moving of the engine, it was about 8-10" behind center of front wheel already, so handling balance was good.

the gtr is the way to go if you want a wild ride. if you never looked in a elise I would suggest it. not only is there no room but much of the car is carbon fiber which is going to beharder for the average joe to work with and modify. the factory 4 cyl is very tight in those car's too.

it would be crazy to have it done. the car is already at the point where if the driver loses 10pounds, u will see better numbers lol

plus the whole no room thing is good so ull never date a fat chick

is it a caterham chassis?? if so i have never seen any V8 in one!

yeah i imagine grip is hard to come by. lol was there much cutting needed for the gearbox?? i heard that the supra box can fit in the westfield chassis pretty easily.

Cheers

No, I doubt it'll fit in a Caterham. Mine was a Rotus.

I know its not an LS1, but it is an aluminum fuel injected Chevy V8. Also, that car was built in '97, before the LS1 was available.

99C5VERT - I would be very interested to hear how you are getting along with your car on road/track. Is there a build log? As I am in process of putting a LS2/T56 into my Westfield (have replaced tunnel to allow T56 to fit).

If we ever get time to get back on our Ferrari, we'll be sticking an LS2 into it. Bob
