Default Everything need for ls1 swap??

Hey guys i got a 1970 chevelle and gas milage is killing me, 13mpg on the highway, so to make my car more realistic i was gonna do a ls1/t56 swap all i was wondering is a list of what all i need to complete the swap and a price breakdown if at all possible. MY car is probably worth 15 grand or so im thinkin with a good swap and with a car like that gettin over 25mpg on the highway i could easily sell it for 25 plus if i so decided to but for now i was thinkin about 3500-4500 for the engine with the trans but was all wiring and stuff is needed?? thanks i know u guys know your **** about this stuff

easiest way to go is to pick up a junk yard engine with everything included. For that price you should be able to pick up what you need. engine, trans, harness, ect..

with that much money invested into the engine upfront you will probably be spending at least $7000+ total to get it running on the street. you can lower that number by doing as much as you can yourself. Modifying the harness is really not as hard as it is sometimes made out to be, and that can save some coin by itself.

Look in my sig. I wouldn't do it for resale, because it's gonna cost more than you think. What condition is the car in now? What's the current trans/rear end? Any pics? Can you fabricate? Have tools and the skills to get it done?

The old saying "A car is only worth as much as someone will pay for it." can go both ways. I haven't begun to think what my car would be worth w/ an LS1/T56, because I'm doing it to enjoy the car and drive it.

I wouldn't do the swap as a way of returning a profit. If you plan on keeping the car to drive, you should go for it though, it is easy, fun, and makes an incredible difference in performance and fuel economy.

I wasnt gonna do it souly for a rofit just thinking that if i do decide to sell it down the road it would make the vehicle worth more, so no one has answered my question still to what parts i would need to complete the conversion

While not exactly everything you need for an A-Body, you can download our spreadsheet from a first Gen F-body at:
