We have used them before, but, dollar for dollar, the Walbro wins hands down.

What kind of power level is the Walbro good for, I've heard alot of people say they are not good for much more than 500hp. The Bosch a better choice for an FI application, to leave room for expandability?

Are the external inline pumps OK. I have a fuel cell now, and hate to think I need to change tanks. Just to put a in tank pump system on it.

my external mount pump is pretty noisy. the in-tank ones will probably be much quieter.

On paper the Mallory 5110-FI pump looks to have the right specs for an LSx. Price isn't too bad either. It is an in-line pump and uses 8-AN inlet and outlet fittings.

FWIW, that's a Bosch 044 pump.

Tom, in addition to that picture, I would also need a return line from the motor, correct?

The trick is whether you have the "returnless" fuel rail. (The purpose of the regulator is to buffer the constant output of the pump against the variable demand of the injectors; the excess is returned to the tank. GM pioneered relocating the regulator from the rail back to the tank ~'98, and the '04 model year marks the point where virtually all Gen-III engines were converted to the return-less system)

The advantage of the returnless fuel rail (using the set-up in the pix) is that you're only running one line the length of the car. If you have the "right" rails, the return out of the filter/regulator is all you need. If you have the older return type rails, you can still use the filter/regulator and simply block off the return at the rail.

PS...

In-tank setups are perfect for the returnless architecture.

Good luck!

My set-up is the external in-line Bosch 044 in the pictures above. If I had to do it over again, I'd go with the in-tank pump. (Quieter and easier to plumb and FWIW, both Walbro and Bosch pumps can work in-tank.)

i guess i need to get that filter adapter to put this bosch in my tank.

i installed one without that brass piece on the end and it would not hold pressure, i guess that is the check ball assembly.. it looked restrictive... any info?
