why a sumped fuel tank ?

I have read several post where a sumped fuel tank is recomended. I will be using a walbro inline external pump with a corvette filter/reg.

If you are asking why a sumped tank over a stock setup? A stock suction setup wont feed enough fuel to the pump whereas a sumped tank gravity feeds the pump with fuel so that the pump doesnt have to suck it then push it to the front of the car. Josh

Also the way a sump is installed, it creates a baffle in the sump to keep fuel in the sump during hard cornering and acceleration.

It help eliminate fuel starvation of the fuel pickup and pump by keeping the pickup in the sump area where there is alway fuel.
