Default Now for the noob question

This may make me sound really dumb....but, now that I have my LQ4 sucessfully running I had to change the oil since it had been missfiring due to the harness being made wrong (cyinders 6 and 8 where wired wrong among other things....I thought that the oil "spout" cap would just twist off so I could pour the oil in ...instead it appears the whole spout comes off with a 1/2 twist and the top cap on the spout just turns some but does not come off?

Is this right and if so why the "spout" rather than simply a cap?

Does this make sense? I would have thought the "spout would make pouring the oil in easier.

Thanks

No, they should separate! I actually removed the spout, and put the cap on the valve cover, it is the same threading. Turn and pull, the cap should come off.

Thanks guys. I'll Play with it some more. I think I would prefer it without the spout anyway.

update...I just got the cap separated and am now using just the cap.
