LS1, what did those engine covers come on? My van motor will need something like that.

Is that the truck intake? and what oil pan did you use?

Will those covers/heads going to clear an AC box? I suppose since a big block fits an ls1 should. Looks close tho....

Rick
Cadi escalade. ls1 car oil pan/windage tray/pickup tube. They will clear the ac box.

That cowl setup is very cool!!! Are you running AC? Iam trying to figure how to mount the compressor .I am willing and able to modify the frame or crossmember. I contacted Classic Air and they will supply a setup to connect to the factory compressor. The box on the firewall would be eliminated and the lies could go inside fender well and enter car through fan hole. Has anyone notched frame or crossmember?

On my 71 swap.. I notched the frame to clear the LS1 AC compressor and connected to my stock 71 AC system. (only the compressor is being used from the LS1).. and the head/coils clear my AC Box.. but it is tight.. I used some heat insolator on the box to help keep the box cool.

bczee, what did you use for engine mounts? Is your engine in the stock location? Don't suppose you have any pics of the notch that was needed for the cross member? I am using my munci 4 speed so I am looking to keep everything as close as posible to stock location.

The Edelbrock Mounts will allow you to keep the engine as close the the stock location as possible, we had to the move the engine approximatly 3/8" forward. I doubt that even with notching of the frame that the AC compressor will work, but I found this a few days ago ....https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...67299.....This is how I would mount the compressor.
