Default 71 Chevelle LS1 swap

Hey guys, new here obviously.

I just recieved a 98 LS1/4l60e with under 50k miles and am looking to put it into my car. I want this to be done "proper" but am on a VERY tight budget too.

I'd love tips on what kind of stuff I'm going to need for sure and where its best to put the bucks and where its ok to save. I want to get good power now, but some things should be easily done later such as LS6 intake (correct?)

So far it looks like:

cam/springs
oil pump (heard bad things about 98 pumps)
headers (is there a place to get plain non coated nothing fancy headers for these swaps?)
oil pan or modify?
harness/computer
timing chain
engine mounts
electric fuel pump
fuel lines?
MAF
O2 sensors? I have none
and possibly A/C relocation brackets?

thats the list I'm looking at so far

thanks for any help!

Do a search on here. There are quite a few Chevelle swaps.

cam/springs(I would search the internal engine section to get ideas for this)
oil pump (go with an LS6 pump and you could port and shim it yourself very easy to do)
headers (The edelbrock headers look to be the best deal out there right now and they are stainless)
oil pan or modify(you should be able to use a stock f-body pan)
harness/computer(keep your eyes peeled in the for sale section and in here)
timing chain(an LS2 timing chain should work great)
engine mounts(do a search but brp style are the only ones that will allow you to use the stock f-body pan)
electric fuel pump(many different options here searching should give you some ideas)
fuel lines(the corvette fuel filter/regulator is a popular solution check the sticky)
MAF(you will most likely want to run one i got mine in the for sale section)
O2 sensors(can find used in the for sale section or buy new at any parts store but you only need the front ones unless you want to run cats)
and possibly A/C relocation brackets(a few different options here as well as notching the frame)

I know you asked about this on the chevelle website and I started to answer you telling you about these mounts. They are a sponsor here and will be more than glad to hook you up. They will also want to sell you a crossmember to keep the pinion angle correct, but you should be able fab one up.
