oil pres. test after hearing of problems getting first time oil pres., i wanted to see what would happen-finally got my $50 junk yard starter, pulled it apart and greased everything, got the 2 starter bolts, installed and ck'ed gear fit with flywheel-wasnt sure how much oil the cts pan held, looks to be maybe 6 qts
i cranked it over a good bit, no pres.-i jacked the back up pretty high, hoping some would run in the pump, still no oil pres.-i let it back down, figured i would give it one last try, didnt want to run the bearings dry, although i used the sticky assemb. lube, there is a limit-i spun it one more try, got 25 lbs pres., lookin good-the supercharger belt seemed to run pretty true also, hopefully next week is a go for fire up-might hook up one plug and the msd box tomorrow, see if i will have fire

I know how you feel, I read all the first time oil pressure threads and was worried also. I cranked my 5.3 over for about 2 minutes in 10 second intervals before getting oil pressure. It gives you a very bad feeling not having any pressure, and thinking about having to pull the motor back out again!
