can you run a solid motor mount on a alum block
I wondered the same thing but ended up just going with polyurethane mounts for the fact that lining up all of those adapter plates i figured having even the tiniest bit of play would be better than a solid setup for lining things up. I personally wouldnt run a solid mount on an aluminum block but i am basing that decision on absolutely nothing other than i dont like the idea of it.

I actually had solid mounts on my LS1 nova and it was fine with the 228 cam. I put in a T-Rex and the pcm was pulling timing because of detonation. My tuner told me to get rid of the solid mounts. I switched to poly mounts and didn't have the problem anymore. So, I guess it depends how big you go on your cam.
