Default Anyone using a GMPP programable trans. controller?

I've got the controller package and have been comparing the various connectors on the harness with the instructions. There is a connector labeled S.C.U that is not described anywhere in the instructions. So far the vendor hasn't been any help.

OK, here's a pic. At the top is the main connector which goes to the tcm. You can see the short link leading from it, labeled transcom. - this connects to the grey wire at the bottom of the pic and it in turn, connects to a laptop. The connector in question, labelled S.C.U , is in the middle of the pic. There is about 15 in. of the same grey wire as the laptop link, between the connector and the tcm connector. The connector on the laptop link and the S.C.U are identical. My guess is that the S.C.U connector and the one labeled transcom are normally plugged together and that they are disconnected only when programming the tcm with the laptop.
However, like I said, there is no mention of it, whatsoever in the otherwise well printed instructions from the General.
Hope you can help. Thanks.

The SCU (Speedometer Control Unit) connector is only used if you have a mechanical speedometer and need a speedometer drive motor for your application. This connector plugs directly into the SCU which is available from TCI. Don't plug it into anything if you don't require the SCU. Let me know if you have any other questions.
