Re: Progress report I basically found out that it was most likely a late, preproduction test mule, most likely used to emissions testing. The heads were a bit odd. They have the LS6 exhaust ports, but they had standard LS1 valves. The springs looked to be standard LS1 items as well. The bottom end checked out fine, and I think extra care went into putting it together. All the connecting rods were numbered with the respective cylinder numbers. That tells me that it was blueprinted.
In the end a Comp cam was installed and the springs swapped out to a set of 918s. I added the Holley intake mainly because I had it, and secondly because I did not want to use the manifold that came on it. Should be good for about 350 RWHP, maybe a bit more.
