LS1 in 69 Chevelle intake question?
LS1 in 69 Chevelle intake question? I am in the process of putting a Ls1 into my 69 chevelle and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for how i can run the intake. I cant decide the best way to place my air filter. I was thinking about moving the battery to the trunk and putting it there.
Another question i have about the difficulty of a cam swap. I am a ls1 newbie and was thinking about doing it myself. Any suggestions.

Are you planning on running the EFI or Carb ? I am guessing that your running EFI and talking about running the CAI setup with tubes to the Battery location..? That will work if you can get some fresh air routed to it in a sealed box, else your just going to suck hot air.
There are many places to buy either rubber, steel or alum tubing and elbows.
On my Chevelle, I am using the LS1 Intake and the Chevelle Cowl Induction Hood, built a custom air box that seals to the Cowl Hood and routes air to the MAF/TB. Follow my sig if you want to see it..

you can run the inlet to where the bat is, or the other side, bore a hole thru the flat part of the fender well, and place a cone type filter underneath-that is how i duct the airfilter on my procharger cars-i am doing that on my 69 with a procharger now, pretty tight fit with using a vette acces/procharger, but pretty tight fit, esp with the top rad. hose, but got it to work
