I thought I made it clear that what I wanted. An LS6 engine in a 350Z. I appreciate the positive input, but the "fix the 350z engine, or TT it" comments aren't helping at all. I need to to know what all the swap will take. And as far as me asking the question on the internet, well I see countless others doing it, so why cant I?
get to work, ask questions as problems arise. if you can't visualize what needs to be done then find a shop that can do it. nobody here can give you a step by step and that seems to be what you're looking for.
find other swaps, piece together pertinent info from each one, figure out the rest on your own or ask more specific questions here. mounting is up to you, pretty much every bit of the rest of the swap is documented here because it's universal info.

Far be it from me to talk someone out of a swap they want to do but an 04 350Z with 40k is not under warranty?
That being said I like the 350Zs and was always less than thrilled with their performance, add an ls1 and that would be a handful.
Start looking for very detailed wiring schematics, if you want much of anything to work you will need them.

Clueless.
Despite others trying to be tactful, and my direct approach, you still can't see the writing on the wall, can you? I can assure you that you don't have the capability to do it yourself, and I can't imagine that a reputable shop would touch it for any less than $8,000-10,000 plus the cost of parts. My guess is you'll have $20,000 (not including the cost of the car) in it right off the bat if you can't do anything yourself. Since you can't really finance that sort of thing you'll need to be paying in cash, which seems like a lofty goal for a 20 year old (student, I'm guessing).
