Here are some track videos. Not my best runs. It was 80 plus degress out. I really like this one. I line up with my brother(Larry from Speed Inc) we are gonna run motor to motor. He leaves on me and sprays it on me. Gotta love brothers.

Looks great. How fast was it on the track? did it hook up? what are you using for tread? I will finish my conversion this summer.

So glad to see this post and all the others under hybrid for g body cars. Hi im new my name is dan. I have 72 olds cutlass and a 85 olds cutlass that has a roll cage and is gutted. I have a 455 sitting in the 85 right now but after seeing your videos BU and seeing all the other pics im more interested in putting a ls1 in as im going to have to go through emissions with the car and i think the ls1 might be a tad more efficient then a 455. Nice to meet all of you! BTW is anyone with hybrids gonna be at the open house at LS1speed? My buddy has '99 LS1 M6 camaro and we are talking about runnin down there for the weekend, would really enjoy talking to some people in person about the swap. Thanks, Dan

I also had a few questions about your car. Is that an elky front clip? And also how much does your car weigh? I thought they were somewhere in the 3k range but I am not sure.

If you dont mind me asking 5.3, did you use the same motor mounts as LS1 BU from John B. or what did you do? Also what did you do for a fuel system? Thanks for the reply, Dan

i made my own mounts, they're very similar to john b.'s, only my engine is in the stock 307/455 location, front to rear and left to right. my fuel system is an external walbro 255 and an aeromotive regulator with the stock tank and pick-up. i used aeroquip push-loc hose and fittings. not much room under the car so i had to mount the pump above the tank to the trunk floor which is an obvious no-no but it's working fine for me. if i had to do it over again i'd go with an in tank GN set-up like john b. and others have gone with.

Can i assume that your olds had a electro-carb engine with mechanical fuel pump before the engine swap then? Mine started out with the 3.8L carbed engine before i dropped the 455 in. The reason i want do this swap is cause i want a reliable,fuel efficient engine that makes power and still have the ability to pass emissions once. I figure in stock conditon the LS1 should be as clean if not cleaner than the old 3.8. Thanks For all the info 5.3, cant wait for the damn snow to melt around here so i can get going on this project! yep, it originally had a computer controlled quadrajet. the 6.0 runs way better than my mild 455 did. gas mileage is noticeably better also. you won't be disappointed.

I like what I'm hearing...... I'm actually swapping a 355 for a 6.0 liter.... And probably a 6 speed. seems like I'm just following the crowd anymore......

VERY nice conversion! I hope to have mine done either this summer or next summer depending on the Monte project, finding time between working and taking care of my son.

I love those Malibu's. Must have been hard and expensive. Several members at Maliburacing.com have similar installations.

Trying to get in touch with John B about his motor mounts and Oil Pan setup for the G-body... I'd like to buy a set of these for my Ls6 conversion in my malibu. Any help would be appreciated.
