Default Engine prices

I have been looking at engine prices on E-bay and other websites. I am looking for a 01-02 LS1 with the 6 speed complete drop out. The prices I see are $ 3800 to $ 4500. Is there a place to find them cheaper than this? I would like to find one for $3000.

Yeah, you want one of the most desirable swap out there. All the prices that I have seen are over what you want to pay. What I would do is just keep looking on ebay and one will pop up (hopely). Give Trans am Creations a call ( http://www.tacreationsusa.com/ ) They go by mileage, not year, so in theory, you can get a 01-02 motor for the same price as a 98 or so motor. Good luck.

Try and find someone to get you an entire wrecked car at a salvage auction. They go for about $5000-5500 here in FL. That way you will have every part you need, and you can easily recover $2000-3000 back in parts from the car itself depending on the damage.
