Default LQ4 in 1995 impala SS

Ok, I got it in and the wiring pretty much finished...Tried to crank it today....nothing... Apparently the PCM isn't engaging the starter solenoid for some reason. I see in the 2005 Yukon schematics that there is a relay for the starter, but there is no place for one on my harness. I'm kinda lost right now as to what wires I need to make this thing crank. BTW the harness is out of a 5.3 silverado...I'm not completely sure what year though. I do know it is a DBW harness converted to Drive by cable. I included the Impala Starting Circuit schematics for reference.

on my 98 Fbody harness the PCM does not engage the starter. going by your diagram it goes from the ignition switch to the starter. not to the PCM. the theft module grounds the antitheft relay if you have that, the diagram shows it both ways.

Would not having the PNP switch hooked up keep it from cranking? I'm not sure if it was deleted from the PCM or not.

Default Figured I'd add some Pics

Well since I started the thread, I figured I'd go ahead and add some pics of my progress...I haven't taken any from the work I did today but it doesn't look much different...

Went from this

to this

In about 2 weeks...unfortunately I can't take time off to work on it 24/7 like I would like to. Sorry about the Cell phone pics also..my digital cam crapped out on me.

Starting to make everything mice and neat

I still have a ways to go, bundling wires and mounting the tranny, but overall I've made a good bit of progress.

On my car, I connected the wire going to the starter solenoid on the original vehicle harness to a green wire on the fuse block. The green wire pulls the starter relay in. I have a 2002 LQ9 installed in a 81 trans am.

On my car (70 Impala with LQ9), I have connected the wire that went to the starter solenoid on the Impala old engine to the starter solenoid of the LQ9: turn the key--> crank the engine, not connected at all to computer/new harness.
The computer itself is connected to an ignition +, so when I turn the key, it cranks the engine and powers the computer-->starts the car.

Yeah there should be a yellow 10 gauge wire on the passenger side close to the small water temp. wire (the green one that goes to the head). Connect that yellow 10 gauge wire to the selenoid and that should be it.
