85 camaro ls1 swap
85 camaro ls1 swap How hard is it to bolt in a ls1 into an 85 camaro with auto trans.....is there alot of fabrication needed or does it go in fairly easy. Any one done this? please pm
We did my son's 88 GTA. It's not terrible but it's not just a regular swap. Try searching on 3rd Gen, you should get a ton of posts.
We kept stock k-member so had to do some cutting and welding there. That only needed to be done to keep a/c. Had to modify the stock trans cross member too. Used pre-fab motor mounts. Wiring was toughest (actually just longest) part but we did it ourselves instead of buying a pre-made harness. Your search should come up w/ all the odd parts like; throttle cable, fuel filter/regulator, radiator hoses, etc.

Hello there, we offer a k member for your 3RD gen to be able to bolt an LS1 into it. Part number KM008 $499.95. You will also need our tubular a arms to complete the swap.
