The intake doesn't bolt on. Where is the front most cylinder on a chevrolet? Where is it on a sbf? They are opposite. The intake ends up being several inches offset on one head. Ask me how I know

ok I'll bite how?....and how far is it off and what would be wrong with getting a sheet metal intake made for it I have a buddy with a machine shop so it wouldn't be to bad

I think that's why he's using an LS1 intake.

Thats the whole point. It won't work. On an LS1, the drivers side head sits forward. On a SBF, the passenger side head sits forward. It just doesn't work. He'll see when he tries to bolt on an intake. I did one of these last year, and ended up having to make an intake.

What kind of power is to gain here? Or is it really just a dare to be different deal?

I think the whole point of it is, is that it would cost probably $1200 or so to buy an aftermarket sbf heads that would have the same characteristics as a stock LS1 head, and not to mention being different. Its fairly easy to do, aside from the intake deal.
