Default Pink wires

I see on some custom harnesses that the pink wires go into one fuse in say a four fuse block, this is contradictory to what i have read by others saying to 15A fuse each pink wire circuit. I am in position too build a fuse block with all pinks grouped and fused (based on factory schematics) but if i can save my self some hassle and group them all together with say a 30A fuse i will do that. Insight, opinions, ideas?

Yes you can.. but the question is do you want to ?

If one fuse and circuit goes.. then they all go..! I guess it depends on what they are for and if you can live with them group together.

You really should split them up. One pink wire will power the injectors and coils for one side of the engine, with a 15 amp fuse. I wouldn't want to up that to a thirty amp and hope nothing shorted out.

I would run fuses for each circuit. Think of it this way.....if it was perfectly ok to fuse them all together don`t you think GM would have done that? If they did that it would probably save them $1.00 per car.....which is more than enough to make it worthwhile for them....but they didn`t, the spent the extra $$$ to fuse each one.

Everything everyone else has said is true. Say you ran every electrical circuit on one fuse. You would need a 200 amp fuse or something crazy like that. If your 30 amp window motor shorted out it wont blow that 200 amp fuse. This means that if the fuse doesn't blow something else will!

ALso if all your accessories are on and the fuel pump and the headlights and... you may overload that 200amp circuit. The fuse will blow and you will have no idea where to start looking for the culprit.

The reason car makers can run so many accessories on one fuse is because they have either calculated maximum amperage or they understand that not all accessories on the same circuit will be used at the same time. Study up on ohm's law and this will become clear.

In other words use dedicated circuits and the correct size wire for the load. Don't forget that the longer the wire will be the bigger the wire size must be to carry that load farther.
