Default LS1 T56 Storage

I will be away on training for a few months and was wondering what the best thing would be to store my LS1 and T56 tranny.

I recently purchased it from a scrapyard, so it's likely been sitting for two months already and has no fluids in it.

Which fluids should I put in it? Should I wrap the motor in plastic? Anything else? Currently it's being stored on a skid in my garage with a broken cardboard box over it.

I will likely have to swap the oil pan when I go to install the motor as well for the BRP LH8 pan.

Any help is appreciated.

first question - where will the engine/tranny be stored? If it's in a city right next to the ocean or in dry Las Vegas, that makes a difference. Will it be stored in an air conditioned space or outside under a carport?

Just try and store it in a dry location, best if it was in doors way from the weather and water.

Just wrap it in a large plastic bag. Or even in a box. But just keep it dry. Just flush it out before you use it and with use fresh tran fluid.
