Default First long road trip

Drove from Virginia to Indiana to visit kids, car ran great and got 20+mpg. Pretty good for a 3600lb car. Did get real hot in traffic jam(was 90+ outside)temps got up to 230 w/ac on, had to cycle ac on/off a few times to get temps down was a 2 1/2 hr backup . On the way home had a little trouble w/fuel pump. Hose btwn pump and sending unit split and I lost fuel pressure, could barely idle. Limped in to a Walmart and found a inline fuel filter kit w/the correct hose size pieces in it at Midnite no less. Glad I had cut a access hole in trunk to get at pump. Lifesaver.

This might make you feal better. I used the Walbro supplied hose and after a 3500 mile trip I went and inspected a few things. I noticed that very same hose had ballooned out. I replaced it and my pump is a little quieter. Not free wheeling anymore.
My fuel milage was 18 in the moutains and 23 on the road. Mine's all stock except the headers.

Not that it is comfortable, but if mine starts to get hot I turn on the heater. It seems to be just enought to bring it back down. I am planning on installing a four core radiator this winter.
