Default belt stretch question

I've recently added a compressor on to my main pulley system and added a new belt , it is not a stock installation. the belt is holding the tensioner pulley a bit tighter than the origonal belt.im assuming the belt should stretch a bit ? is this o k? the next size smaller wouldnt fit . thanks JOHN

That belt looks to short. Your tensioner is maxed out. The indicator line on the pulley arm should be between the 2 lines on the base.

1 more up.

and out of curiosity, why did you do it this way? the crank pulley has its own dedicated drive just for AC on your LS does it not?

thanks for the info, the reason for going onto the main pulley is that it the compressor wouldnt clear the chasis and i didnt want to cut the chasis . i wanted the compressor down low . JOHN

That's were my tensioner sits. If you can go one size higher do it, but with a new belt that is going to stretch I wouldn't worry too much about it.
