Swapping a 6 speed into 70 chevelle

hey guys, im pickin up a 6 speed from a 95 lt1 to swap into my 70chevelle sb, what do i need to do the whole conversion, what pedals do i use, where do i get the right shifter handle and crossmember? any advice would be great, i looked on a few chevelle sites but didnt find much

What engine is in the Chevelle??

Basically, if your car is Automatic right now....here is a link, that should give you an idea of what you are going to need (albeit the link shows a 5 speed tremec, it might point you in the right direction)...

Also keep in mind that you will have to cut the top of the trans tunnel. The T56 is too tall to fit otherwise. Most people usually have to raise it about 2 inches.

thats no problem i do autobody/restoration im just wondering if i could use the camaro pedals and such

i would get some 70 chevelle pedals and they will be a straight swap for your auto pedal, and if you stay with mechanical clutch get the z-bar and all the rods
