MSD 6010 user, need some help please
You can actually hold the sensor in your hand and take a piece of metal and go back and forth past the magnet really fast and the meter will then read also.
Another is to take a test light and back probe it and the light should blink as you start it.

i disc my coils, hooked up the laptop, turned the ign on to make sure i was in the current program in the msd box, and max'ed my dials so i could read them
cranking the engine over, with spark plugs in place, i read aprx.157-158 rpm on the dial-so if your not reading anything on your laptop, there is a problem
make sure your pill isnt in the box, and that you are currently reading the program on your computer-if needed, you could download from msd to laptop to be sure
on another note, i have run mine with the map disc, but was running the timing off the rpm chart
if you were running the map timing, then i would suspect it might not work, but if it did, might read the timing as 1 astmosphere
i use my map now, because of the supercharger, but might switch back to the rpm timing, one less thing to worry about failing, lol
Lason, hope this tells you what you were looking for
