I have a 64 malibu ss with a 5.3 and want to use a external fuel pump but dont which one to use. has anybody used one? which one should i use? what pressures do i need? thanks!

There has been some discussion of the 255 not being as good as it once was quality wise, reports on here say they are only lasting few thousand miles when externaly mounted.

The 255 external is fine, you will find that most pump failure is due to installation error.... Sufficient gauge wiring must be used and the pump should be mounted close to the tank and it never hurts to have it lower than the tank..... also take in to consideration fuel filters before the pump to prevent debris, and orifice size feeding the pump so you don't make it work harder to flow the same amount of fuel..

walbro fuel pump p/n GLS392 110$ AT Evil BAY
vet filter/regulator gm p/n 10299146 or wix number 33737 on Evil bay 40$
dorman fuel fittings to mate with filter (3) from midway auto
part numbers 800-155, 800- 120, 800-121 about 30$ plus shipping.
