xtra added weight?

how much extra weight does the convertible add on the 98-02 camaro's?

Compared to the hardtop and T-Top cars I've heard 130 pounds. Others have said 110 but I hear 130 more often.

Not sure on Camaro, but full specs attached for 01 TA.

Weight penalty for convertible is 110 pounds for V8 cars. Add an additional 110 pounds for a hot babe.

Humm, hard to beleive those steel beams running parrallel down the car and the pumps and **** only weight another 130....pretty good i guess.

My guess is a major portion of the extra weight is actually the top mechanism and hydraulics.

Lots of thick steel plates compared to paper thin sheet metal on a hardtop.

One thing to remember is that we don't have that massive piece of glass in the back, and all of the steel for the hardtop either. That makes a difference. Although I will admit that I was surprised when it was only a little over 100 lbs too.
