Default rear window...

i was cleaning my car and for the first time noticed that at the bottom of the back window. where the cloth meets it i can pull that back and feel the rubber underneath ect. is it supposed to be liked that or should it be glued to the base of the glass? just never noticed it before.

Is the window still connected to the inner layer of material?

I could be wrong but it sounds like you may have to get that sealed. I had the same problem. I didnt want to mess w/ something like that myself because if I missed even a centimeter water w/ most likely sink through.
So I brought it to a convertible top place and had them seal it.

well im not worried with sealing it myself. som good silicon/gorilla glue will fix that but the way it looks to me i dont see any old residue of some kind of sealant. and thats why im confused if it should be sealed.

as i look at it more the part im pullin up it the actuall top itself under it is another inner cloth that is still sealed to the windows underneath.

I think you should be OK, as long as the window is sealed to the inner fabric. I'm pretty sure that the outer fabric, outside of the window, is not sealed to the window.
Alot of people, including me, have had the window separate from the inner fabric. Mine actually fell into the car last weekend (see pics in my post entitled 'replacing window curtain'
