How much does a convertible top weigh?
How much does a convertible top weigh? We have a couple of little parts that have broken on the top on my wife's 95 Z28. Damned things are NLA from the dealer, and there's no aftermarket for them. It looks like GM either updated the design, or changed vendors around the '96-'97 model year, as similar parts from 98-onward (based on personal experience and conversations with others looking for the same part) are of a completely different design.
I figured it's probably easier, and even possibly even cheaper, to just replace the whole dang top. I have located an available top, but the seller is wondering how much it weighs to calculate shipping costs. He hasn't removed it yet, preferring to keep the top on to keep the interior dry as long as possible.
So, does anyone know how much the entire 4th Gen F-body convertible top weighs? This will be complete with the top fabric and pumps. I'm just trying to speed this process through. Thanks.
